About The Music Group Studio

The Music Group Studio in Edmond, Oklahoma, stands as a testament to more than three decades of dedication to the craft of sound. Founded in 2005, the studio emerged from the merger of two respected recording houses: West 2nd Recording, led by Chris Freels and Hamilton House Studio D, led by LG Hamilton. The vision and partnership of Chris Freels and LG Hamilton laid the foundation for what would become one of Oklahoma’s most trusted and versatile audio production facilities.

Designed by renowned studio architect George Newburn of Studio 440 in Hollywood, California, The Music Group Studio was built to serve a wide spectrum of audio needs—including music recording, film scoring, commercial production, and beyond. Its acoustically refined spaces and state-of-the-art equipment continue to attract artists, producers, and creators seeking uncompromising quality.

At the heart of the studio is LG Hamilton, co-owner and producer, whose music industry journey began in 1987. With decades of experience recording albums, crafting jingles, and operating studios, LG brings a deep well of expertise to every project. Known for his enthusiasm, positivity, and collaborative spirit, he ensures that every session is both productive and genuinely enjoyable.

Though no longer involved in day-to-day operations, Chris Freels’ influence remains woven into the studio’s DNA. Today, Chris spends most of his time traveling with his wife Gina and enjoying life with his new grandson, while still proudly watching the studio he helped create continue to thrive.

For nearly twenty years, The Music Group Studio has been a cornerstone of Oklahoma’s music production community—fostering creativity, supporting artists, and delivering excellence in every sound.
